Reserva Heredad PN, best Spanish Cava 2015.

Segura Viudas NV Reserva Heredad Pinot Noir was crowned Best Spanish Sparkling Wine at the Awards Dinner of the 2015 Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships on 2nd September. It was one of 11 international sparkling wines unveiled as National Champions by competition founder Tom Stevenson and fellow judge Essi Avellan MW at Vintners’ Hall in London, in front of over 100 international winemakers, producers and journalists.

The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships (CSWWC) published the results of its second edition and Heredad Segura Viudas got great recognitions at the contest. Three SV Sparkling Wines have been awarded with Gold Medals, one of which has become the Best Spanish Sparkling Wine of 2015.

Gabriel Suberviola, Head of Enology at Heredad, says: “This wine comes from a selection of the best grapes of Pinot Noir collected in 2011. It was born in old vine of 26 years from vineyards placed in Aiguaviva, in Penedes region. The result isa rosé, pale, delicate and elegant sparkling wine, with fresh acidity and great potential on aging”.

Open to all kind of styles and varieties of elaboration, all references are evaluated by specialists through blind tastings.
 
This year contest started at the beginning of 2015 and last August they published the awarded references. The Gala Awards was held last 2nd of September at Vinter’s Hall of London.
